Our
Story

After being diagnosed with a severe panic and anxiety disorder when I was fourteen, I've tried a lot of different therapies and psychologists and methods. Nothing worked on the long run. When I collapased over a year ago, we were desperate and we didn't know what to do.

That's when we started to look at the possibility of a service dog. We knew that dogs were getting used to help people with PTSD and autism. So after we did our research, we got the feeling this could work for me too.

And that's where Nex comes in.

My boy Nex

The biggest coincidence is that Nex was born on the day I broke down. It's like god sent me an angel to look after me.

Together we've already been through so much. He was my reason to get up every morning. We even managed to go to the grocery store again.

And not all days/weeks are good. Sometimes I have a hard time going to a supermarket and do my thing. But Nex is always by my side and he really gives me a feeling of comfort.

Our
Journey

Since june this year, we started our journey at hondwikkeling. They give me guidance about training Nex, so he can become my official service dog, and about me, how I am doing and how I can change for the better.

And they look at us as a team. What is Nexy showing that reflects on me and how I am feeling. The ultimate idea, is for him to show me when I get overstimulated and when I can't handle any more things.

Although we're still at the beginning of our service dog journey, I can deffinitly say that this is working and I have high hopes for the future of Nex and me.

But I could use your help..

As you can imagine, training Nex to become an official service dog is a very long and costly process. We'll have to invest approximately €10.000. This is about $11000 USD.

We tried to reach out to our local government but they sadly couldn't help us with the cost. And it isn't in mu our my family's blood to set up an GoFundMe. We don't want to ask people for money when they can use it themselves.

Instead, I came up with the idea to make leather collars, leashes and rope dogtoys to help fund our service dog procedure.

I have a lot of free time at the moment because of my burn-out and my anxiety to leave the house. But I am not a quitter.

I decided to invest my time in learning how to make leather dog products and I wanted to sell them. All of the profits will go directly to our service dog procedure.

I wanted to give something in return for people helping me. That's why I set up this small business. And I hope you will love it just as much as I do.
